Location: We are located off Interstate 44 south on Highway 8. The campground is approximately six miles from St. James on the south side of the road with the swimming pool out front. We are also convienently located 1 1/2 miles from the Maramec Spring Park.




ACTIVITIES

Maramec Spring Park is a 1,850 acre wildlife refuge and is one of the most beautiful areas in Missouri. Maramec Spring is one of Missouri's largest springs with an average daily water flow of 96,000 gallons. Maramec Spring's facilities include: Trout Fishing, hiking, picnicing, playgrounds, museum, and other historical displays. Also, still standing at Maramec Spring is the first Iron Furnace in Missouri.


Trout Fishing...for Trophy Trout!

Then take our 9.8 mile Trophy Canoe Float on the Meramec River, or come fish the Winter "Catch & Release" Season in the Maramec Spring Park. Maramec Spring Park has it's own Trout hatchery where you can feed the fantastic lunker trout. The Park's fishing stream is stocked each day with Rainbow Trout for your fishing enjoyment. Our Country Store can save you money on all your ultra-light Trout fishing supplies.

Canoeing on the Clear - Clean Upper Meramec River!



The Meramec River is one of the most popular floating rivers in Missouri. We offer both short and long canoe float trips. There are great gravel bars on the Meramec River for fishing,swimming, picnicing, and overnight camping for our two day float trips.
In renting a canoe with us, we will take you and your gear from the Country Store to the starting point. Then when your float trip is over we pick you up and return you to the Country Store. This keeps your car, gear, etc. secure while you are enjoying your float trip.

Hunter's Paradise!
Our Country Store and RV park is located in the heart of Deer, Dove, Quail, Turkey, and Squirrel hunting. There are 5,000+ acres in Woodson K. Woods, one of the most beautiful State owned hunting and hiking properties in Missouri. This property is directly across Highway 8 from our RV Park.

Other Area Attractions:
Many local churches to attend, Country Club Golf Course, Antique and Gift Shops, Little Dixie Lake, Historical Homes, Snelson-Brinker Log Cabin, Flowering Crab Apple & Dogwood trees, St. James Park, Grape & Wine Vineyards that offer wine tasting and ethnic foods. Plus, Old Iron Works Days in October and The Old Grade School (1899).

*Canoe rental includes tax, all equipment, and shuttle service.
